The Avery Dennison Over-The-Road Reader is for logistics customers who require maximum inventory visibility and routing accuracy. By using best-in-class RFID reader technology, we have created a fixed RFID reader that is truly mobile. A rugged but thin, adjustable profile allows for ceiling-mounted installation on the door side of a variety of mobile cargo holds. A combination of smart sensor technology reads RFID tagged pallets, cases, and RTIs, automatically detecting when the door is opened or closed, provides power management and device status, and can communicate real-time location.
The Over-The-Road Reader provides automated accuracy of load pickup and drop off which results in constant visibility and reduced or eliminated mis-shipments. The Over-The-Road Reader also easily integrates with other Avery Dennison products to provide end-to-end solutions to connect the physical with the digital for actionable insights.

Avery Dennison’s Over-The-Road Reader is an autonomous RFID reader solution leveraging military-grade solar power and unique battery chemistries that are the safest across the industry to operate even when the tractor is disconnected from the trailer. We have integrated a variety of sensor fusion technologies that may include RFID, cellular, GPS, digital camera systems, door, motion, IR, temp, and battery status sensors, depending on customer requirements and transmits data via cloud-based data communication.
Applicability
The Over-The-Road Reader from Avery Dennison provides automated digital visibility of physical items flowing through the supply chain without requiring digital infrastructure at each of the routed warehouses, removing costly mis-shipments and manual cargo scans.
