Summary of Innovation
The Geekplus Pallet-to-Person system is a solution in our comprehensive suite of Goods-to-Person offerings. Pallet-to-Person is part of a hybrid solution that provides high-density pallet storage in the vertical space of a warehouse combined with all the advantages of mobile robots for ground-level picking. On the upper levels of the warehouse, the Pallet-to-Person utilizes every inch of vertical space for pallet storage and quick and flexible replenishment of the lower level. Below them, picking robots move shelves, pallets, and racks containing the most in-demand goods. Drilling deeper, the width of the Pallet-to-Person aisle is 40% smaller than the traditional forklift aisle. By also extending racks to the tops of the available space under the warehouse roof, Pallet-To-Person increases a warehouses storage capacity 5 fold.
Innovation Statement
This goods-to-person innovation is completely modular and scalable, meaning that companies can add on as they grow with very little infrastructure investment, a unique innovation in a fixed automation world; existing infrastructure such as conveyor belts, robotic arms, or automatic lifts can be integrated into the system for receiving and/or distributing goods. The system is controlled by a proprietary software powered by smart algorithms that can easily be integrated into existing technology.
Applicability
As part of an integration with other Geekplus solutions, the Pallet-To-Person solution has enabled a 3PL specializing in e-commerce to add 27,000 pallet positions to store more product while improving their average per-person pick rate from 40 to 550 picks per hour, making this the ideal solution for retail, 3PL, manufacturing, cold chain, and pharmaceutical customers looking to maximize space and labor while improving picking efficiency.
